TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (January 17, 2023) - The Florida College System Activities Association has released its weekly coaches' polls and announced its Player of the Week Awards in Men's and Women's Basketball.

Region 8 Player of the Week Awards (January 9-15)
Congratulations to the following student-athletes who received Player of the Week recognition:
- Region 8 Men's Basketball Player of the Week: Addison Patterson, Tallahassee
- Region 8 Women's Basketball Player of the Week: L'or Eyeba Mputu, Eastern Florida State
All Player of the Week honorees will be considered for NJCAA Player of the Week honors, which will be announced Wednesday.

Sports Updates
- Basketball: The NJCAA has selected a pair of Region 8 basketball doubleheaders for coverage on ESPN+ this week. On Wednesday, Gulf Coast State College will host Tallahassee Community College (6:30/9 pm eastern); on Saturday, Tallahassee will host Chipola College (2/4:30 pm eastern).
- Baseball/Softball: The Region 8 Preseason Baseball and Softball Coaches' Polls will be released Monday, January 23.
