TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (February 28, 2023) - The Florida College System Activities Association has released its weekly coaches' polls and announced its Player of the Week Awards in Men's and Women's Basketball, Baseball, Softball, Women's Tennis and Beach Volleyball.

Sports Updates

• Men's & Women's Basketball: The bracket reveal for the NJCAA Division I South Atlantic District/FCSAA Basketball Tournament is scheduled for approximately 11 a.m. eastern on Thursday, March 2 via Twitter @Region8Tourney. The NJCAA Division II Region 8 Men's Basketball Tournament will take place Friday and Saturday, March 3 and 4 at Florida Gateway College. The Timberwolves earned the top seed and the right to host by defeating Palm Beach State College on Saturday. Palm Beach State and Pasco-Hernando State College will play in Friday's 7 p.m. semifinal with the winner advancing to Saturday's championship game opposite Florida Gateway. 
• Women's Flag Football: Florida Gateway successfully ushered in its newest sport offering on Saturday, hosting Xavier University in a women's flag football doubleheader. 
• Baseball: The first NJCAA Division I Baseball Poll of the regular season was released Monday and the College of Central Florida sits atop the rankings at No. 1. Santa Fe College is No. 8 while Gulf Coast State College and Pensacola State College are Nos. 11 and 19, respectively. Indian River State College, Miami Dade College and Tallahassee Community College received votes.
• Softball: In the first NJCAA Division I Softball poll of the regular season, Northwest Florida State is ranked No. 2, leading a quartet of Region 8 schools in the top 11. Florida SouthWestern State College is No. 3 followed by No. 9 Central Florida and No. 11 Seminole State College. Indian River State and Pensacola State received votes. In the NJCAA Division II Softball Poll, Pasco-Hernando State College received votes. 
• Swimming & Diving: The NJCAA Swimming & Diving Championships get underway on Wednesday and continue through Saturday at Erie Community College in Buffalo, N.Y. There, Indian River State will be going for a 49th straight men's championship and 41st consecutive women's title.
