TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (December 6, 2022) - The Florida College System Activities Association has released its weekly coaches' polls and announced its Player of the Week Awards in Men's and Women's Basketball.

Region 8 Player of the Week Awards (for events November 28-December 4)
Congratulations to the following student-athletes who received Player of the Week recognition:
- Region 8 Men's Basketball Player of the Week: Skylar Wicks, State College of Florida
- Region 8 Women's Basketball Player of the Week: Ja'miyah Bryant, Pensacola State
All Player of the Week honorees will be considered for NJCAA Player of the Week honors, which will be announced Wednesday.

Sports Updates
- Men's Basketball: The Florida College's Basketball Shootouts continue this weekend with men's action at Daytona State College and Eastern Florida State College. See the men's basketball schedule for pairings, game times and links to live streams.
- Fall Sports All-Americans: The NJCAA has announced its All-America teams in volleyball, men's soccer and women's soccer, while cross country and half marathon were determined by finish in November's championship events.
- Volleyball: Florida SouthWestern State College's Barbara Koehler was named the NJCAA Division I Player of the Year while the Bucs' Thais Baziquetto-Allen was named NJCAA Division I Coach of the Year.
