Indian River State College rolls to sweep of Swimming & Diving Championships

BUFFALO, N.Y. (March 4, 2023) - The Indian River State College Pioneers proved, once again, they are the gold standard in collegiate swimming & diving, with another sweep at the NJCAA Championships.

The IRSC men won its 49th straight National Championship, totaling 1,274 points during the four-day event, well ahead of second-place Southwestern Oregon (796.5 points). With Championship #49 in tow, the Pioneers can set their sights on 2024 and the pursuit of their golden championship. 

The IRSC women won its 41st consecutive National Championship (and 42nd overall), scoring 1,328 points, also outpacing runner-up SouthWestern Oregon (683 points).

The 2024 NJCAA Swimming & Diving Championships will return to Fort Pierce, Fla., March 6-9, 2024.

Indian River and second-year program College of the Florida Keys played a prominent role in the meet's individual awards, claiming the following honors:

  • Gina Miller, Indian River, Scholarship Division Women's Swimmer of the Meet
  • Madison Price, Indian River, Women's Diver of the Meet
  • William Beckstead-Holman, Indian River, Scholarship Division Men's Swimmer of the Meet
  • Sam Hlavacheck, Indian River, Men's Diver of the Meet
  • Graham Murza, Florida Keys, Non-Scholarship Division Men's Swimmer of the Meet and NJCAA Non-Scholarship Men's Athlete of the Year
