TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (October 5, 2021) - The Florida College System Activities Association has released its weekly coaches' polls and announced its Player of the Week Awards in Volleyball and Men's and Women's Cross Country.

Region 8 Players of the Week Awards (for all events/matches September 27-October 3)

Congratulations to the following student-athletes who received Player of the Week recognition:

• Region 8 DI Volleyball Player of the Week: Romina Cornelio, Miami Dade
• Region 8 DI Volleyball Defensive Player of the Week: Adlene Jideofor, State College of Florida
• Region 8 DI Volleyball Setter of the Week: Jenna Zimmerman, Daytona State
• Region 8 DII Volleyball Player of the Week: Emma Rome, Lake-Sumter State
• Region 8 DII Volleyball Defensive Player of the Week: Darlenis Medina, Palm Beach State
• Region 8 DII Volleyball Setter of the Week: Jayla Butler, Pasco-Hernando State
• Men's Cross Country: Andy Martinez, Daytona State
• Women's Cross Country: Ariel Anderson, Florida Gateway

All Player of the Week honorees will be considered for NJCAA Player of the Week honors, which be announced Wednesday.
