TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (November 23, 2021) - The Florida College System Activities Association has released its weekly coaches' polls and Player of the Week selections for men's and women's basketball.
November 22, 2021 Coaches' Polls
Region 8 Player of the Week Awards (for all games November 15-21)
Congratulations to the following student-athletes who received Player of the Week recognition:
- Region 8 Men's Basketball Player of the Week: Bendji Pierre, Indian River State
- Region 8 Women's Basketball Player of the Week: Ciante Downs, Gulf Coast State
All Player of the Week honorees will be considered for NJCAA Player of the Week honors, which will be announced Wednesday.

Fall Championship Events
- Volleyball - Florida SouthWestern knocked off Miami Dade in the Fifth-Place Match at the NJCAA Division I Volleyball Championships. Polk State was eliminated in Consolation Bracket play, as was Lake-Sumter State College at the Division II Tournament. Congratulations to all four teams on their participation in the national tournament!
- Men's Soccer - Daytona State was eliminated from pool play with a 2-1, double-overtime loss to Salt Lake (Utah) Community College. The Bruins scored the winning goal with six seconds left in the second overtime period.
- Women's Soccer - Eastern Florida State College won its first national championship by defeating Tyler (Texas) Junior College, 1-0. Tyler was the two-time defending national champion and had won 52 straight matches.
