TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (May 10, 2022) - The Florida College System Activities Association has released its Player of the Week selections for baseball.

Region 8 Player of the Week Awards (for games May 2-8)

Congratulations to the following student-athletes who received Player of the Week recognition:

• Region 8 Baseball Player of the Week: Edrick Feliz, Central Florida
• Region 8 Baseball Pitcher of the Week: Andy Rodriguez, Miami Dade

All Player of the Week honorees will be considered for NJCAA Player of the Week honors, which will be announced Wednesday.

Spring Championships Updates

• Softball
  • Division I: The College of Central Florida won the FCSAA Softball Championship, defeating Seminole State College, 10-2, to punch its ticket to the national tournament as the South Atlantic District A Champion. The Patriots will be joined in Yuma, Ariz., by Florida SouthWestern State College who knocked off Seminole, 13-1, to win the District B crown.
  • Division II: Pasco-Hernando State College is the No. 3 seed in the NJCAA Division II South Atlantic District Softball Tournament. The Bobcats open play in the double-elimination event on Thursday, May 12 against the winner of the Patrick & Henry (Va.) Community College and Cleveland (N.C.) Community College.
• Women's Golf
  • Seminole State College is currently hosting the NJCAA Division I Women's Golf Championships at Mayfair Country Club in Sanford. Seminole State, Daytona State College and Eastern Florida State College are part of the 27-team field.
• Women's Tennis
  • Hillsborough Community College, St. Petersburg College and State College of Florida are currently participating at the NJCAA Division I Women's Tennis Championships in Tucson, Ariz.
• Men's Golf
  • Eastern Florida State's men's golf team is in Odessa, Texas, for the Division I Men's Golf Championships. Play begins today and continues through Friday. 
• Men's Tennis
  • Eastern Florida State's men's tennis team is in Tyler, Texas, for the Division I Men's Tennis Championships. Play begins May 16 and continues through May 20.
• Baseball
  • Division I: Central Florida, Chipola College, Indian River State College and Miami Dade College advanced out of regional play and into the Championship Round of the FCSAA/NJCAA South Atlantic District Baseball Tournament, which begins Thursday, May 12 in Lakeland, Fla. 
  • Division II: Florida State College at Jacksonville will play Catawba Valley (N.C.) Community College in a best-of-3 series for the NJCAA Division II South Atlantic District Baseball Championship. Games are scheduled for May 13 and 14, weather permitting, in Hickory, N.C.
