NJCAA Region 8 Basketball Notebook: December 10

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (December 10, 2019) – The Florida College System Activities Association (FCSAA) has released its NJCAA Region 8 Men’s and Women’s Basketball Coaches’ Polls for December 9 and Player of the Week selections for games played through December 2-8.

The next poll and player of the week selections will be released December 17.

NJCAA Region 8 Men’s Basketball Player of the Week

  • Averaged 19.0 points, 5.7 rebounds, 1.3 assists and 1.3 steals in three games during the voting period
  • Shot 58.8 percent (20-of-34) from the field and 77.8 percent (14-of-18) from the free throw line
  • Led Polk State to a 3-0 week and wins over No. 6 Gulf Coast State and No. 15 Chipola
  • In the win at Chipola, he scored 25 points on 10-of-14 shooting and hit 3-of-5 from three; also had five rebounds and two assists

  • Averaged 27.5 points, 6.5 rebounds, 1.5 assists and 2.5 steals in two games during the voting period
  • Shot 57.9 percent (22-of-38) from the field, 50.0 percent (6-of-12) from three and 71.4 percent (5-of-7) from the free throw line
  • Led Gulf Coast State to wins over Palm Beach State and Daytona State at the Florida College’s Women’s Basketball Shootout
  • Against Daytona State, she hit 14-of-21 shots (5-of-8 threes) en route to a 36-point night and also had seven rebounds, two assists, two steals and one block
