NJCAA Region 8 Baseball/Softball Notebook: April 23

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (April 23, 2019) – The Florida College System Activities Association (FCSAA) has released its NJCAA Region 8 Baseball and Softball Coaches' Polls for April 23 and Player and Pitcher of the Week selections for games played April 15-21.

This is the final softball poll for 2019. The next baseball poll and player of the week selections will be released April 30.

NJCAA Region 8 Baseball Player of the Week

  • Batted .667 (6-for-9) with four runs scored, two doubles, one home run and seven RBI in three games during the voting period
  • Hit safely in each game for the Patriots, who won two out of three games last week
  • In Central Florida's 16-15 win over Lake-Sumter State, he was 3-for-4, scored three runs, doubled twice, homered and drove in six runs

  • Led the Bucs to a 3-0 week
  • In game one of a doubleheader vs. South Florida State, she was 3-for-3, finishing a triple shy of hitting for the cycle with four RBI
