NJCAA Region 8 Baseball/Softball Notebook: April 2

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (April 2, 2019) – The Florida College System Activities Association (FCSAA) has released its NJCAA Region 8 Baseball and Softball Coaches’ Polls for April 2 and Player and Pitcher of the Week selections for games played March 25-31. 

The next poll and player of the week selections will be released April 9.

NJCAA Region 8 Baseball Player of the Week

  • Batted .750 (6-for-8) with two runs scored, one double, two RBIs and one stolen base in three games during the voting period
  • Hit safely in all three games as the Bucs took a series victory over Suncoast Conference rival Polk State
  • Finished the series with a 3-for-3 outing

  • Tossed seven scoreless innings in the Bucs’ 5-0 win vs. Polk State
  • Allowed only six hits and one walk while striking out 16

  • Helped the Bucs to a perfect 3-0 week
  • Hit safely in each game, including game two vs. South Florida State when she was 3-for-3 with two home runs and seven RBIs

  • 1-0, 0.00 ERA in two appearances during the voting period
  • Threw the first perfect game in school history in the Bucs’ 8-0 win against Polk State. Had four strikeouts in the win
  • For the week, she totaled six innings and didn’t allow a walk or a hit while striking out six
