NJCAA Region 8 Basketball Notebook: November 7

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (November 7, 2017) – The Florida College System Activities Association (FCSAA) has released its NJCAA Region 8 Men’s and Women’s Basketball Coaches’ Polls for November 7 and Player of the Week selections for games played November 1-5. 

The next poll and player of the week selections will be released November 14.

NJCAA Region 8 Men’s Basketball Player of the Week
Andres Feliz, Northwest Florida State
Sophomore – Guard
Santo Domingo, D.R. 

  • Averaged 18.3 points, 6.3 rebounds, 6.3 assists and 1.7 steals in three games during the voting period
  • Shot 71.9 percent (23-of-32) from the field, 37.5 percent (3-of-8) from the three-point line and 66.7 percent (6-of-9) from the free throw line
  • Helped Northwest Florida State to three wins in as many games during the opening week of the season
  • Recorded at least 15 points, five rebounds and five assists in each game
  • Had 22 points, seven rebounds and six assists in the season opener at Coastal Alabama-North
  • Finished the week with 18 points on 8-of-9 shooting, five rebounds and eight assists against NJCAA No. 9 Motlow State

  • Averaged 25.0 points, 12.5 rebounds, 2.5 assists, 5.5 steals and 2.0 blocks in two games during the voting period
  • Shot 61.8 percent (21-of-34) from the floor and 66.7 percent (8-of-12) from the free throw line
  • Led Tallahassee to a pair of wins at the Arkansas Baptist College Season Tip-off Classic
  • In the season opener against Arkansas Baptist, she recorded just the second triple-double in school history – 32 points, 13 rebounds and 10 steals
  • Followed that with another double-double, 18 points and 12 rebounds, in a win over Angelina
