OCALA, Fla. (March 10, 2018) - The Northwest Florida State College men and Gulf Coast State College women are your 2018 NJCAA District/FCSAA State Basketball Champions.
In an all Panhandle Conference final, Northwest Florida State defeated Chipola College, 92-64, to win the men's championship.
In the women's final, Gulf Coast State defeated Eastern Florida State College, 81-57, the 21st straight championship for a Panhandle Conference school and 12th for the Commodores.
Both teams will advance to their respective NJCAA Tournaments.
Northwest Florida State's Andres Feliz and Gulf Coast State's Shayla Bennett were named the Tournament's Most Valuable Players.
Northwest Florida State's Steve DeMeo and Gulf Coast State's Roonie Scovel were named the Tournament Coaches of the Year.
