TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (February 13, 2018) – The Florida College System Activities Association (FCSAA) has released its NJCAA Region 8 Men’s and Women’s Basketball Coaches’ Polls for February 13 and Player of the Week selections for games played February 5-11.

The next poll and player of the week selections will be released February 20.

NJCAA Region 8 Men’s Basketball Player of the Week

Sophomore - Guard
Brooklyn, N.Y. 

  • Averaged 20.0 points, 6.5 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 2.5 steals in two games during the voting period
  • Shot 53.8 percent (14-of-26) from the floor, was a perfect 7-for-7 on three-pointers and hit 5-of-6 (83.3 percent) free throws
  • Helped surging Pensacola State to two crucial Panhandle Conference wins, including an 87-70 upset of top-ranked and previously unbeaten Northwest Florida State
  • Prior to the NWF State upset, he hit two three-pointers in the final 15 seconds, including one at the buzzer to erase a five-point deficit and beat Tallahassee 81-80 – he finished with 22 points that night and was 4-for-4 from long distance
  • Had 18 points, seven rebounds, three assists and three steals against NWF State

  • In her lone game of the week against Broward, she had 32 points and 26 rebounds, along with three assists and five steals
  • Shot 57.1 percent (12-of-21) from the floor and 80.0 percent (8-of-10) from the free throw line
