NJCAA Region 8 Baseball/Softball Notebook: February 6

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (February 6, 2018) – The Florida College System Activities Association (FCSAA) has released its NJCAA Region 8 Baseball and Softball Coaches’ Polls for February 6 and Player and Pitcher of the Week selections for games played January 29-February 4. 

The next poll and player of the week selections will be released February 13.

  • Batted .750 (9-for-12) with four runs scored, four doubles, one home run and six RBI in three games during the voting period
  • Led Gulf Coast State to wins in two of its three games
  • Posted three straight three-hit games – included a solo homer vs. St. Johns River State; three doubles vs. Andrew; and a double and three RBI vs. Bevill State
  • Also pitched five innings and struck out seven to get the win vs. Bevill State

  • Batted .579 (11-for-19) with seven runs scored, one double, six RBI and seven stolen bases in six games during the voting period
  • Led Indian River State to five wins in six games
  • Hit safely and scored in five of six games; was 2-for-4 with two runs scored and two RBI in 8-4, game one win vs. Florida SouthWestern; went a combined 6-for-8 with four RBI in doubleheader sweep vs. Santa Fe

  • Picked up game one wins over South Florida State, Florida SouthWestern and Santa Fe; recorded the game two save vs. Santa Fe
  • In the win over Florida SouthWestern, she threw a complete game and struck out eight
  • In 19.2 innings in the circle, she allowed 16 hits, five runs and nine walks while striking out 24
