NJCAA Region 8 Baseball/Softball Notebook: April 10

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (April 10, 2018) – The Florida College System Activities Association (FCSAA) has released its NJCAA Region 8 Baseball and Softball Coaches’ Polls for April 10 and Player and Pitcher of the Week selections for games played April 2-8. 

The next poll and player of the week selections will be released April 17.

Ocala, Fla. 

  • Batted .579 (11-for-19) with eight runs scored, two doubles, two home runs and nine RBI in four games during the voting period
  • Hit safely in all four games, all victories for the Saints
  • Had a pair of four-hit games, one coming against Daytona State when he was 4-for-5, scored four runs, homered and drove in three

  • 1-0, 0.00 ERA in one appearance during the voting period
  • Threw a complete-game, six-hit shutout against St. Johns River State in the Bobcats’ 6-0 win
  • Walked only one and struck out five

NJCAA Region 8 Softball Player of the Week

  • Batted .778 (7-for-9) with five runs scored, three doubles, one home run, seven RBI and one stolen base in four games during the voting period
  • Hit safely in all four games, all wins for the Bucs, who clinched a third straight Suncoast Conference Championship
  • Was a combined 3-for-3 with two runs scored, two doubles, one homer and five RBI in doubleheader sweep vs. Polk State

Lindsay Markham-Rosario, Central Florida
Sophomore – RHP
St. Cloud, Fla. 

  • 3-0 and 0.95 ERA in five appearances during the voting period
  • Picked up complete-game victories against Mid-Florida Conference foes Florida State College at Jacksonville, Seminole State and Daytona State
  • Against nationally-ranked Seminole State, she tossed a (five-inning) complete-game, two-hit shutout
  • For the week, she totaled 22 innings in the circle and allowed 10 hits, three runs (all earned) and 10 walks while striking out 18
