TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (February 16, 2017) - Two coaches recently earned milestone victories.

Broward College men's basketball coach Bob Starkman and Gulf Coast State College baseball coach Mike Kandler are the latest Region 8 coaches to notch milestone victories during the 2016-17 season. 

When Broward knocked off ASA College Miami, 62-59, on February 4 it was Starkman's 300th career victory as men's basketball coach at Broward. What many may not know is that Starkman also served two season as head coach of Broward's women's team (1999-00, 2000-01).

Following the game, a jovial locker room presented Starkman with the game ball. 

Kandler, meanwhile, picked up career win No. 700 on February 11, a 9-2 win at St. Johns River State College.

Kandler, now in his 12th season as head coach at Gulf Coast State, has been coaching for 30 years. With the Commodores, his record is 388-190.
